Graduation Rates Disclosure
January 7, 2022
In accordance with the Higher Education Act, Mercer University is pleased to provide the following information on the graduation/completion rates of our 2015-16 cohort of full-time, first-time, degree seeking undergraduates, and student athletes receiving athletic financial aid.
While reviewing the information, please keep the following in mind:
- Graduation/completion rates are calculated by tracking a cohort of new, first-time, full-time, degree-seeking students for six years (150% of normal time to completion of a 4-year degree). If a student completes a bachelor's or equivalent degree from Mercer by August 31 of the sixth year, the student is counted in the completion rate.
- The majority of first-time, full-time degree-seeking students enter Mercer through our traditional program which is offered in Macon, Georgia; it is a daytime program geared toward traditional age students, the majority of whom are attending college for the first time. Some first-time, full-time degree-seeking students also enter Mercer through our non-traditional programs. For example, Mercer offers a continuing education program geared toward older students which is offered evenings and weekends at regional academic centers around the state of Georgia.
- Graduation/completion rates do not include students that enter as transfers or who initially enrolled part-time, and do not reflect outcomes after the 6-year period.
- Graduation/completion rates do not include students who left school to serve in the armed forces, official church missions, or foreign aid service of the federal government. In addition, students who die or become totally and permanently disabled are excluded from the cohort.
